The brilliant coloring books from Rosie Flo are genius not just in the fact that they turn your little artist onto and into Da Vinci, Degas, and Picasso but they also require them to create the heads, arms, and legs of the masterpieces for further creativity!

Big art for little hands! This enchanting activity book on Frida Kahlo allows young artists to explore her masterpieces on their own terms and with plenty of space to color outside the lines. Buy it on Amazon.

You may want to clear some space on that fridge, or better yet, bust out some frames, clothesline and clips, or even scotch tape, and create your own gallery
I'll buy a ticket!

February book review: The Eco-nomical Baby Guide!!

the-economical-baby-guidegreen-ideas-108938.jpg

It's not often that you open a book only to find yourself agreeing with almost everything inside! February's book review is a doozy, and everything we stand for, and believe in, here at Ecobaby!

It's The Eco-nomical Baby Guide by Joy Hatch and Rebecca Kelley, the inspiring gals who are also the authors of the awesome Greenbabyguide.com.
There are many guides to buying more baby "stuff," but this one will actually help you buy less and be smarter for your baby and the planet!
Focusing on the reduce, reuse, recycle mantra and writing in a humorous but straightforward style, these resourceful mama's dish about everything from eco-friendly diapers (they break down and crack the cloth diaper code!) to babe's first food.
They offer specifics for economy choices, midrange options, and heirloom picks, making green living with a baby accessible to everyone, even those on the tightest of budgets.

With kind wisdom, tips from the trenches (their personal budgets and how they saved), DIY ideas, and an emphasis on progress, not perfection (hooray!), this is a great read for new and expectant parents!
A wonderful gift for a baby shower or yourself!

Valentines day. Hearts and love and chocolate, what's not to adore?
So in honor of this yummy holiday that falls in the month of my birth, I would like to give away an equally yummy heart Heirloom Teether for your babe from the always awesome rocklovepeace!
Many plastic baby products contain toxic additives that are harmful to your baby and the earth. Not to mention, plastic takes about 600 years to degrade!
Wooden toys stimulate the senses with their natural beauty, contain nothing icky, and can be passed from generation to generation.
This love shaped teether is hand made in the USA from sustainably harvested  wood, finished with all natural ingredients, and comes in an adorably biodegradable jute bag.

January Book Review~BIRDS!

I Love this book!

As you may know, I am obsessed with birds, and I came across this beauty at the Library and instantly fell in love!
Created by a husband-and-wife team, this yummy picture book bridges the space between concept books and longer narrative stories, making it perfect for little ones, and a gorgeous tribute to our avian friends.

(My favorite page)
Henkes’ words have a lyrical beauty, while Dronzek’s bright acrylic paintings, in saturated primary color and heavy black outlines, reflect the text’s plain elegance while carrying an  energy all their own.

"Once I saw seven birds on the telephone wire. They didn't move and they didn't move and the didn't move. I looked away for just one second...and they were gone."

Delicious!
